Is a .5 or 1.75 extrusion head better for detail oriented parts?

Is a .5 or 1.75 extrusion head better for detail oriented parts? I assume 1.75. Which is more standard?

I think you might be mixing some things up. A standard starter nozzle has a 0.5mm opening through which filament is extruded. This can go down to maybe 0.15mm? If it’s your first printer, go with 0.5mm. You can upgrade to a smaller nozzle later, but it will be easier to start with this.

On the other side of that question, 1.75mm is a filament stock size. It I think is used for higher detail parts, but the stock is more expensive and fewer hotends are compatible with it than the more standard 3mm. I recommend 3mm.

Thanks very much!
