I want to try printing/extruding some text on a 3D object. What software is suggested for this. Is it possible to do this on an STL model?

It’s quite easy in blender, from memory you can type something then extrude it into an object. Then maybe you have to convert to mesh. Place it where you want on an imported STL and join objects.

p.s blender is free. i don’t have it with me but i think you hit space bar, choose add text then look to the bottom panel for options
