Hey guys - I figured Id ask - Ive been using Cartesian style printers for the last 5 years - starting with the Mendel Prusa. ATM I use a self designed I3 variant -which has worked great for me.
Im starting to see more posts about the Core XY printers. I’m guessing they are similar to a Ultimaker design? Is there any benifit to this design over the I3? and is the quality and robust-ness better?
Thanks!

The ultimaker is not a core xy printer

Sliding bed machines tend to have more inertial mass, which limits acceleration.
