Makerbase Gen L V2 + 2209 drivers: help interpreting a graphic

Putting my FLSun Cube back together with a new board, MKS Gen L V2.0, and struggling with the drivers. I found a tutorial, but I can’t understand what it’s trying to convey. Could someone tell me how the table in this graphic relates to meatspace? I don’t know what I’m looking at or how to set the jumpers correctly.

Because you have 2209s, you probably want UART mode, not STEP/DIR, so those would be irrelevant. Looks like what you probably want is to bridge the green header pairs below the stepstick footprints, labeled XUART YUART ZUART E0UART and E1UART.
