I’m a Distinguished Engineer at Pendo.
I have too many hobbies, but they include many forms of making. 3D printing was my “gateway drug” to manual machining, thence to CNC, now laser. I occasionally dip my toes in circuits, from microcontrollers up to converting my lawn tractor from gas to electric power. I’m a ham (Amateur Radio operator), call sign KZ4LY, and also a private pilot.
I built a CoreXY of my own design, on the skeleton of a Tronxy X5S. After that succeeded, I built a cantilever of my own design from spare parts around the house. I now use an SK-Tank and Qidi X-Max 3. I enjoy designing and making my own tools. I probably spend at least as much time making tools as using them. When I think of the next new idea, I can go make it, using one of the technologies I’ve learned — whether that idea is for another tool or something else barely matters.
I’m on the Fediverse as @mcdanlj@social.makerforums.info
