The new features called out for this new release of Discourse are mostly for features we have not set up for Maker Forums, like chat and the new Discourse AI bot. But there are several security updates, as there often are in new Discourse versions. So we’ve updated.
We have not been able to set up the ActivityPub integration yet on Maker Forums because it disables actions that we depend on here, like turning posts into wikis. However, there are some improvements to the ActivityPub plugin recently, called out in these release notes, that are starting to address some of those limitations, and if all the relevant limitations are sufficiently addressed, we will be able to to follow Maker Forums Discourse conversation on the fediverse, including but not limited to Maker Forums Social.
