Very nice work…

@donkjr thanks!

Hello Nice work !!
i Have Question How i can Engrave photo because when im going to do it`s Very Bad Photo So can u tell Me , thnx

@P_Mido Hi, thanks! Remember that this is on a laser diode and not CO2 laser. What kind of laser do you have? Can you attach some image you want to engrave? And the result of the engraving? The quality of engraving depends on many factors I can help you but I have to see what you want to engrave and what is your result.

@Octavian_Bujor
Thnx For Your Replay … i Have Laser Engrave Module 2500MW
i have Made Something But Quality is Not Good … Can u help me with That something like Give me setting Of engrave photo like u did … or tell me how i can do it and i wana know the line between Engrave photo how can i remove it Or fixed it
here is My Module + Simple Project
missing/deleted image from Google+

@P_Mido Your laser module is ok, did you focus well your laser? Check this page about laser focusing https://jtechphotonics.com/?p=2602
The results depends also on what wood you want to engrave, in the image it seems to be MDF, that’s right?
I suggest to use beech or birch for good results.

You have to check also your laser beam size in LaserWeb, in my case for good quality I set it to 0.12 mm. In your image I see many lines in the black part this maybe because you set a wrong beam size. For better raster results you can use the diagonal scanning in laserweb look here https://cncpro.yurl.ch/documentation/cam-operations/40-laser-operations/8-laser-raster-settings#diagonal

Last but not least, the image quality is very important you have to edit the original image in order to have good engraving results. You can see here some things you can do but without the conversion into bitmap this is not necessary in our case http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Laser-Engraving-Photo/ and here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2ULldN28V8 and here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjXD96VrGH8

@Octavian_Bujor First i Thank u To Replay Me …
My Laser is working with TTL PWM " i Set it on LaserWeb 12000"
that is Okey ?!
No this is not wood its Papar Thin
How i can check for laser beam ?! u men Laser Diameter ?! is my case what the value will be ?!
i turned Off the Diagonal trim pixels ?! it`s must turn on ?!
i turned them all Off !!
and My Laser it was focused
here is Setting FOr Engrave that i did

thnx again

@P_Mido Hi, I don’t understand what " i Set it on LaserWeb 12000" means. If you are trying to engrave paper the result is ok, for good results you have to engrave wood because you can get better results.

Yes laser beam is laser diameter, you can try to cut a line and measure the size of the beam or just change multiple values and pick the better.

My setting values in LaserWeb4 are:
Laser Diameter: 0.12
Passes: 1
Cut rate: 1600
Trim Pixels: Enabled
Join Pixels: Enabled
Burn white: Disabled
Verbose GCode: Disabled
Diagonal: Enabled

@Octavian_Bujor My laser work with TTL ( PMW ) so in Gcode setting i set value of PMW it was “1000” and when i engraving Something nothing happend so i change it to “12000” because o saw in Laser program i forget name … laser power from 0-255 Or 0-12000 so i change it to thia value …
how can i see the best laser diameter ?! how i can recognize it . and engraving on wood better and easy then papar
thnx for replay
last thing when i set diameter the line between each line will remove ?!

@P_Mido For finding the correct laser diameter you have to read this guide https://cncpro.yurl.ch/documentation/cam-operations/40-laser-operations/8-laser-raster-settings#diameter
you have two options:

  1. engrave some lines as here https://jtechphotonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Laser_Cal-2.jpg and measure the line width, but this is not so easy to measure it.
  2. engrave a test image like this https://cncpro.yurl.ch/images/Test-Files/acceleration_test.jpg with different laser diameter settings, e.g. 0.1, 0.11, 0.12, etc. and pick the configuration that gives the best result.

If the laser diameter is set correctly white lines in the images should disappear.

With Same Cut Rate … i will try and give u Results thnx man … i will tell what happend

@Octavian_Bujor
Hello Again
i already engrave the black square and i already got Result but i will show u Some of my try when i got home and tell me this is Good Or bad !
i got on Wood Black Square by :
diameter : 0.12 Or 0.11
Cute Rate : 61 :frowning:
and machine is too too slowly !! that is okey or What
BTW i plugin jumber on Driver on cnc shield to got full step move so that is why i got slowly ?! so u recommend me to remove them or change another thing ?! thnx

@P_Mido Hi! This is too slow. I don’t think the problem is full step settings, I also use this setting and it works fast. If you set 1000 as cut rate what will happen? In my opinion the problem is not the steppers but the laser module, it is configured to work at full power? The laser driver should be configured to work at full power.

@Octavian_Bujor
when i set
cut rate : 1000
laser power : 100%
its fast but laser engraving light
when i set lower then 1000 its engraving strong then light u uderstand me ?!

i will make engraving image and post setting of it and screenshot of every setting i did

@P_Mido Yes, I understand you, the problem is that for a 2500MW this is not good enough.

@Octavian_Bujor
can i upgrade it to like 5.5 w without buy laser module … i meen upgrade my module ?!

@P_Mido You don’t need to upgrade your laser module, 2500 MW is enough for engraving, the problem is that your module is not working as good as an usual 2500MW. In my opinion you have problems with configuration. My laser module is a 2000MW and I’m able to engrave at a speed of 3500. Can you post a video of you laser working?

@Octavian_Bujor
Sure i will Make One With engraving Photo and Setting Of all program and engraving
