I have been assuming that annealing in sand would reduce dimensional change during annealing. When I searched, I saw that salt has also been recommended. I couldn’t find any comparisons of the results between sand and salt. Anyone have any data to share?
(Absent any specific information to the contrary, I’d generally prefer salt because I could wash it off and not worry about embedding abrasive silica in my print, unless my purpose was to embed the sand to be intentionally abrasive.)
