The other day my neighbor was cleaning out some old tools and gave me this vintage hand brace with a complete set of Irwin auger bits (1/4 -1" in 1/16" steps). Bits appear to be in great condition. No makers mark on the hand brace.

I got a set from a friend last year also.
I cleaned them up but wondered if I would ever use them.
Turns out these bits will drill a more accurate (dia) than power bits, which always end up a bit (no pun) oversize.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve heard. Better for dowel pinning something together.
