Tip for debugging!

I ran across these SP002E USB WS2812 controllers on Ray Wu’s stock (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/SP002E-LED-pixel-controller-with-USB-connector-for-power-input-supports-WS2811-WS2812-WS2813-APA102C-UCS1903/701799_32891873515.html). I clipped off the end and put my own connector on it and then it makes debugging super easy because you can just hook this up to any strand and see if the error is downstream or upstream of that connector.

Particularly if you’re out on the playa hot, exhausted and under-slept it’s nice to have something near bombproof and disposable that you can use to verify if the issue is in the your light’s wiring or in your circuit board/controller.

they also make a version with a 5 volt barrel jack in place of the usb A.

@Mark_Estes That also seems awesome. Do you have a link handy?

I used something similar for my 64x64 array when I built it. Speaking of playa project, what was yours?

controller coming in handy in testing a few lamp concepts. ( differing led layouts)
