This is an UNTESTED improvement for many Chinese 4th axis. Adding an induction sensor as a reference for the 0° position.

I like it. My only question is will it trip the sensor at a different “zero” position when it comes into sensor range if it is rotating in a positive vs negative direction?
Even if so, then seems the simple solution would be to always rotate the same direction into the sensor when zeroing. Looking forward to hearing your progress.
@marmil you need to set the homing direction in MACH3. That’s the same with all sensors on a rotary axis and is supported in most machine control software.
Ah, that makes sense (and makes things easier!) I have never looked into a 4th axis setup, but you are providing good interest and inspiration. Super.
