This is a CNC control box (work in progress) for the 3040. I decided to use parts from an old PC case.
Components used:
- ArduinoDue
- Synthetos gShield
- Chinese 400W spindle motor with driver board
- 30V DC power supply for stepper motors (and temporarily the spindle motor)
- shielded cables
- some 3D printed 5mm washers to separate electronic boards from metal case
To do list:
- wiring cable shielding to the metal case (and earth)
- adding relay to control spindle ON/OFF with Arduino and g-code
- emergency stop
- 220V connections
- connecting limit switches, spindle PWM, probe to Arduino pins
- connecting 48V DC power supply for the spindle motor, after it arrives from China
