Marlin 2.0 has always supported AVR/8-bit, and there are no plans to remove it?

Correct… Marlin 2.0 currently supports 8bit 2560 mega. I could be wrong but I don’t think they plan on removing mega support. Need confirmation.

There are no plans to remove 8-bit support from Marlin @ModBot ; probably need to issue a correction. What’s going to happen in Marlin 2.0 is that they will be developing a hardware-abstration-layer, and making it so they can utilize the same codebase for 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit Microcontrollers.
