Thanks to @Scott_Thorne for the great deal on a couple of laser diodes and drivers. A 6.5 and a 2.5 W laser diode on their way Tuesday…can’t wait to get them!

@funinthefalls Do you think any of those laser diodes will allow engraving acrylic?

Yup, they will engrave just fine, cutting is not the greatest, have to go very slow and sometimes make multiple passes.

I never had much luck engraving acrylic with a blue laser diode. Is there any special trick to it?

It does not engrave clear very well, but it will engrave colored acrylics to varying degrees of success. Painted a dark color, the acrylic will engrave beautifully.
