ShapeDo Migration - YouTube

I just migrated my designs across… I was looking for an excuse to leave Thingiverse after the recent patent issues with Makerbot, this migration tool made it really easy.

This is wonderful, Thanks!

Why would I want to do this?

Also, FYI… Some flaws in the code. I just was able to be in the user account Daramit/Amit Dar.

Anyhow, my account is getting my files, under lseidman.

When adding a project, if the name has invalid characters, you change it, it wont let you submit as it doesn’t detect the change.

@Lance_Seidman Thanks for the reaction and insight. I think we really started pushing this because of M[t]akerbot’s Patent policy (I.e patenting Ideas that “seem” to come from the community) One of our co-founders was part of one of the designs they seemed to have patented, and a few of our friends were hurt by them in other ways, so we took it kind-of personally.

Thanks for catching the bugs. I didn’t fully understand the first one, and it sounds like a really significant bug. Can you please message Amit@shapedo.com with more details? We would really appreciate that.

@Ari_Isaacs Sure thing and thanks for explaining. I just didn’t know why the community existed, now it makes sense. I’ve migrated my files over.

I only mention the bug cause I am a programmer as well, I would want someone to tell me too. I wasn’t trying to be an ass or anything.

THANKS for catching the Bug; Now we know about it it’s easy to fix.
