I think we should all spend more time thinking about the connecting aspect of our models.
We have a supremely flexible technology at our disposal and we spend a lot of time building clearance holes and nut traps into designs.
If an embedded connector can be modelled that is up to the job we should take the time to implement it and forget the nuts (and bolts).
