So a little bit about me I run a fabrications department in a PVC pipe manufacturing company that is publicly traded on the stock exchange. I am new to hobby CNC equipment but have 3 years experience on professional cnc machines with 9 years experience on manual machines before this I have worked for a company for 3 years that manufactures industrial plastic extrusion equipment. I will stop beating around the bush and get down to brass tacks has anyone ran into a 3d printer that utilizes a pelletized substrate instead of a roll of filiment. I understand the process of extrusion and know that raw pelletized material with dye pellets is way cheaper to utilize than rolls and can get 10x or more raw material for the same cost as rolls

Just this one:

Richrap made some good progress a while back on building the extruder http://richrap.blogspot.com/search?q=pellet

I like that  reminds me of a lamson single I use to make only smaller  I built screws similar to this only 10 feet long and 4 inches in diameter

I was thinking more along the lines of hot end assembly that uses pellets

That would probably only be good in a Bowden tube extruder setup, or else the moving mass would be too much.

The Seemecnc Partdaddy does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtQG733dC1s 4mm extrustion width though…
