Retrofit of an old Trotec engraver

I will test it tomorrow !
It’s now unplugged, tommorow should be fully discharged !

tested this morning:

  • S2 switch is not there
  • no short between capacitors and diode bridge (seems to be 220V device)

I have also tested all the diodes bridges : they are fine

I have even re tested the PSU with a new power cord… same thing of course!

So now I will probably buy a new one. Any advice between all the models ?

I would look for the lowest-price supply that has the same connector style making the installation easy.

I received my new laser PSU this morning.

I ordered the “white connectors” model but received the “green connectors” one…

Of course delivered without any documentation and connectors not labelled…

Have to find how they connect on @donkjr’s blog !

Found this wiring on Don’s blog :

I have just added the 5V output on the right most connector (was missing on the drawing). Hope I am right !

I can’t help thinking that these lasers are “impressive”.
First test : manual trigger of the beam → it works !

Very good day today:

I have performed mirrors alignment. And so here is the very first cut on a piece of paper !

Needless to say that I am very very happy !

Thanks for your help during this project (special thanks for @donkjr and his blog)
