Purpose built "Rotary" laser engraver

I am looking for some design inspiration to develop a laser engraver that is only for use with a rotary attachment. I envision it looking sort of like a wood lathe. If you have any ideas, please let me know, I am struggling at the moment to come up with an elegant solution.

Thanks in advance.

Some of the specs are as follows:

I have a rotary that looks like this
rotary

I also have an 800mm, 50mm diameter tube, 50W LPSU, and want to use Openbuilds V-slot wheels and extrusions.

How about this?

Are LED modules powerful enough to engrave glass, coated steel etc.
If so replacing the router with a LED module in the link @HalfNormal suggested would seem doable.
In fact you might be able to modify one of the cheap CNC gantries avail on Bangood!

It seems using a gas laser would result in about as much stuff as a K40.

You could mount a CO2 laser vertically instead of the router :).
