Probably the last thing Thingiverse needs is another spool holder, but I made another one anyway.
Variety is the spice of life. I was essentially called nuts for designing rod ends instead of buying them. Some folk seem to forget the value of a hobby.
Care to mount a spool for us and post a pic?
So, are the balls just held near enough to their center lines to allow them to roll in place with low-ish friction, or is there something more clever that I’m not seeing? It looks like they’re supposed to be in a raceway, but it appears that the spool moves perpendicular to it where it makes contact.
No clever tricks unfortunately, the balls just reduce friction.
