THIS IS NOT A MACHINE/HARDWARE SUPPORT GROUP

Please take a moment to understand the message above before continuing.

Greetings to new users looking to make the jump to one of the best CAM and control packages available for your laser. For those who have recently upgraded to an aftermarket control board or are working with one of the inexpensive China based laser engravers and want to try LaserWeb/CNCWeb, please take a few moments to make sure that your machine is working properly before posting support questions to the LW group. LW is primarily a software interface and if your board is working as it should, there should be little to no difficulty with operation in LW.

If you find that you are having hardware troubles, please head over to one of the G+ groups for your new controller or engraver and see if they can get you on the right track with the stock software package or an approved interface like Pronterface or similar for the smoothie crowd before starting LaserWeb. If your machine is working properly and all looks good and you are having further problems with LW, then feel free to post a support request and the awesome members of the community will do our best to help you out.

Here is a list of G+ groups for some of the most common controller upgrades and would be a good starting point for hardware related questions

Anytime. I’m typically good at rewriting things like that to be a little more user friendly

Maybe Pin to top of the LW community  edit: ignore me, I see it is already pinned to the top

I pinned it shortly after I posted it at least for now. Eventually it’ll migrate over into the documentation.

@Carl_Fisher is LW working with TinyG now? I see it listed in the hardware list above.

It’s being worked on. Search a bit through the development posts here and you should find some info.

I’ve noticed that we’ve been getting a lot of hardware related questions lately that are not related to LW. I know we’ve been doing our best to help, but I agree that they need to be redirected elsewhere. I’m guessing that this actual post is probably not even read but that they’re just coming in here and blindly posting.

When you delete a post, are you able to send a message to the user letting them know why?

404 on that example

The top of this post starts off with aftermarket control boards. The diode machine buyers may stop reading at that point since they’re still stock.

Is there a community for those folk?

Let me modify this main post a bit. Do we have a better place to send them to?

Maybe: “Chinese laser diode machines: we don’t know of a support community for you; please start one and we’ll announce it here!”

LOL

I am willing to help answer diode help questions.

Now if I only had one of these machines to help document the GRBL side.
