This should help anyone interested download their Google data. If you only want to archive your G+ data then select None for the data and then you can look for G+ Streams and G+ Communities on the archive page.

Honestly, the data backups specifically for G+ seem to be insufficient to me. A couple of folk resorted to 3rd party scripts and quickly written python scripts. I do not know how they got the python scripts to work either because it looks like javascript rendered text fields to me.
