Noob Question please: Anyone using FreeCAD? If so, what are your opinions in connection with 3D Printing? Thank you.

Powerful but has a steep learning curve. Not intuitive (like most open-source projects).

Do you have a suggestion for a much simpler one for a noob? Thank you.

There is a shortage of easy-to-use 3D modeling tools. It’s a complex subject. Take a look at 123D Design and also 3DTin (posted above).

I don’t know what’s unintuitive about FreeCAD. It has the same (though not as fully implemented) modeling paradigm as Solidworks, which professionals use to great effect. I recommend FreeCAD as the open source modeling software for most applications.

OpenSCAD and derivatives are very appropriate for complete parametric designs, and feel more like programming than drafting.
