“No one had done it before”. I’m probably missing something, but how is their “brand new” Color Gamut any different from HSV?

The writer if the article appears to be a color blind idiot, or at least color theory blind. The actual work by the people the author is talking about is far more in interesting (and aware of its place in the history of color models) - http://mappingcolor.com/news/2015/3/5/mapping-color

(also I believe the “no one has done it before” refers to the modeling tool, not the model they’re using)
