My first printer was a Mendel90 by +nophead. I built a rostock max V1 next, and then a Eusthatios from raw parts. I was in need of another printer post job change, and had minimal budget. I lusted after the latest prusa I3’s performance and build volume, and posted in here to confirm my opinion that it seemed the best value out there.

Then I stumbled across the CR-10, did a bit of research and decided I was willing to sacrifice print speed for price, and pulled the trigger.

I couldn’t have been more impressed in the 1 month+ since. I’ve primarily been printing in PET, but ABS occasionally. I keep print speed around 45 to 55mm/s, and use a simplify3D profile I found off the active facebook community around the printer.

There are definitely flaws and imperfections in the design (primarily a cantilevered Z) - but if properly fiddled with they pose no issue. And for ~$400 it’s insane the value - matching the best I’ve seen from Ultimaker 2s and my own Eust.

This link isn’t a sponsored one like so many cash hungry you-tubers might promote. I just saw banggood was having another sale, and thought someone else out there might appreciate the value in this spectacular deal of a printer. Expect minimal setup, and some fiddling to level bed, strain relief y-axis bed cables, and some tensioning of rollers on the t-slot frame - but great reward for the effort.
