Man, you guys must be made of sterner stuff or something. I’m on flintwheel 5 with very little success. The last one was very light, worked for about 15 minutes when I think the retracts overcame it’s ability to push.

Lowered the bed, extruded past the plug, and heard the characteristic high-crackle of the flint cracking and falling apart.

It might be my bowden as it’s longer than I’d like it to be and it’s tightly bound with zipites and cable wrap to the wires going to the carriage.

@Mike_Miller Don’t just give up yet… You’re nearly there.

  • Don’t over tighten the ring;
  • I found that some epoxy helps (give it time to cure);
  • Maybe try to lower your retraction speed (<40 mm/s);
  • Maybe reverse your entry to catch the coil in the right direction for the retraction to pull on the coil rather than pushing (that would be entry on right side when viewed from the top). Usually retraction speed is higher than extrusion speed;
    If all this doesn’t work, invest in some diamonds for your printer (that is @Mauro_Manco 's suggestion).
    Good luck.
