@meberhardt — I’d like to reinforce @donkjr’s point about going to DMs on this forum. From the FAQ linked at the top of every page:
Keep the discussion Public
Taking a discussion private does not improve the discussion.
The reason to have a forum at all is to share information for everyone. Ask your questions in public posts. Never ask to take questions to private messages. Taking questions to private messages tells all other forum participants that they are not worth learning from your questions.
Everyone has questions. Share yours here, and we can all learn together.
So for the benefit of the next person, please keep all questions in public. Thanks!
Also, you should know that “private” messages on Discourse forums are not very private. All “private” message are visible to all staff, all participants in any “private” message can add other people or even groups of people to the “private” message, and as you have seen, “private” messages can and will be moved into public messages in the forum.
