Just bought one of these motor ESC combo for my truggy as are in sale in UK warehouse of Hobbyking  Only £28 + £6 postage.

I was thinking of mentioning the sale on here in case there were any good deals to be had. But it will be at least a few month before I can get started on my truggy.

@John-Paul_Hopman It will probably months before I finish the truggy and then start the F1 car, but I have already start buying a few bits for that

My money is currently invested in drone parts and servos for inmoov. Would like to start those projects first.

Good luck with your build.

Just searched “inmoov”… Thanks a lot @John-Paul_Hopman … thats all I need, a 3D printed robot on my to-do-list…
When you have your Inmoov finished, I would love to see it with a RC controller in its hands, controlling an OpenRc car!!!

I am planning to use with an all metal gear train, using the HSP 60065 Central Diff that is M1 pitch. But most pinions of M1 are for 5mm shaft and this motor is 1/8" (3.17mm). My 2 options…

  1. Buy HPI’s WR8 Flux pinions, as they are M1 on 1/8"

  2. Buy a set of regular M1 on 5mm and use Hobbywing sleeve. Although I have a feeling I will need a longer grub screw…

I can see myself doing both

You didn’t look good enough

I bought 3 pinions 9t, 12t and 14t. But i think, i will go for a different drive train with rear motor mounting and different Gears with 0.6mm pitch.

Thanks @MRV11
I looked at hobbyking for those “Metric parts”, but it came back with no results. I have a feeling I was stuck in the UK warehouse.

As have 15T-19T on their way, I will add an 9T, 12T, 21T & 23T to my next Hobbyking order, so I can fully test the range of the Truggy in terms of acceleration, top speed and a nice balance for different terrains.
I look forward to seeing your 0.6mm gear setup , on the F1 I assume.

Actually for Truggy. Well, it will not look like a truggy from Barspin, but it will use some parts from it. Because i’m planning to run it on 3S, i decided to go for an aluminium chassis and some other parts from HSP.
P.S. I actually bought parts for metal drive line like you building. It looks like i will not use them. So if you need spare Central Diff.Complete or pinions that i mentioned, let me know.

Sounds intriguing… If all goes well with 2S I plan to push it with 3S, that I am sure will result in some destructive testing. Look forward to seeing your finished build. Thanks for the offer on the spare. I will see how this one fares first. Where you based? I am in Derbyshire, UK.

Eastern Europe. Interesting, which receiver/transmitter you are planing to use? I’m looking at RadioLink RC4G. Lots of features and low price.

I am using the Turnigy 5CH mini stick transmitter, but that is so I can use for a point and drive project for my young child. I will get a wheel trans at some point and the RC4G looks good. I have all the components for a arduino based stabiliser that I am building and will start coding soon. I hope it is good enough to open source and I have some extra features planned that don’t come on these gyro receivers. I am not sure how this will effect my choice as I have not looked into it yet.

So much things to do. Isn’t it? =)

Yes, too much to do… We’ve just got to make time to complete and share…
