I prefer to cut threads into PLA to make bolts and nuts.

This would be fine as a temporary fix, but there’s generally a very good reason why something is bolted together and not glued or riveted. Plus, with this rapid heating/cooling of the PLA doesn’t that make it brittle?

@Alex_Fielder The reason is because people have bolts laying around. This is useful for a lot of things.
