I’m thinking, I’m going try using a smoothie board with external drivers, but I don’t know if that will be sufficient.
I may have to use Mach 3 or Linux CNC
I tickled with all the open source options, been diving pretty deep in research to smoothstepper. May aim at MACH 3 as well on my next personal build.
Oh yes, that is an excellent idea. I might use that too. I forgot about that. Is it much more powerful than Gecko Drive?
Not sure, main interest is not needing a xp 32 bit in VPN. Believe you still have to add external drivers with it though.
You sold me on the smooth stepper idea. I just picked one up on eBay. Used but supposedly in great condition for $129 plus shipping.
