I was wondering that if the drivers on the TinyG board are 2.5a limit, then how does the Y axis on an OX style CNC work properly when motors are wired in parallel and both are 2.8a motors?? It would seem that they would be seriously under powered. Any suggestions? Maybe I am missing/not understanding something.

The TinyG has 4 stepper drivers. I used one for each motor, X, Y1, Y2, and Z.

You can set the Y1 and Y2 motors to both be driven by the Y axis, and configure one to run in the reverse direction of the other.
