I received two BBBs, one from Element14 and one from AdaFruit. Out of the box, the linux on the former listens on port 22, and on the latter does not (what a pain!). This surprised me a little. I guess that the OS is tweaked over time and there may be important differences from one to the other. I’m planning to upgrade the OS on the AdaFruit BBB tonight to see if that fixes the issue.

Anyone else seeing similar issues?

I upgraded to the 2013-05-20 release, and that did the trick. ssh is working now.

Woot! Lots of power in the BB blacks. All my BBs and PIs run Debian. Hope you have a lot of fun Don!
