Walmart! of course! Do you have this one? How does it perform?

Be careful of cheapo chinese tablets. I just found a back door on mine that was installed by the manufacturer and installed a bunch of spam ware it took me ages to track it down and fix it. It even had a trojan installed that detected if you removed the backdoor, and displayed DEMO in huge red letters across the screen if you did.

@Wolfmanjm - That’s NUTS!!! I’ve been using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avast.android.mobilesecurity on all of my android devices. Should I be looking at other apps too?

this backdoor trojan is installed by the manufacturers and is not detected by virus detectors. It is in the Readonly RoM. you need to be superuser and set the partition to write and delete the spamware and replace the infected programs. It is a real pain and not easy to do. You can probably check yours if you can monitor network traffic, see if it tries to contact a server in china whenever it boots up. Mine was fine until the trojan contacted home base and decided to install some code I did not ask for. The result was pop ads everywhere, apps installed I did not ask for, and what is insidious is resetting to factory defaults does not remove the trojan.
