I am just curious if anyone has printed anything in PLA and then dipped or coated it in two part epoxy or polyeurethane. I do not plan on doing this, but I just had to wonder.

I have a sculptor friend who uses putty epoxy to hand finish his PLA prints.

I saw a great blog post on finishing PLA parts with spray primer (wish I’d saved it!). The dude was doing two coats, sanding between coats, and his results were phenomenal.

@Matthew_Satterlee Did it increase the strength or heat tolerance?

If you really want to increase strength and heat tolerance, have your part nickel plated.
