I am into either building my own printer or buying one that I can

I am into either building my own printer or buying one that I can modify, I want to build a large format printer to build “O Scale” structures, and locomotives and rolling stock. I saw recently a printer that ran horizontally on a wall to build wall murals and a spark went off in my head and thought why not make building side and end walls this way?

Any advice would be a great help?

Large-format is hard. How big are we talking? Mounting to a building wall is a reasonable approach when you don’t care about transporting the printer, but you might be unpleasantly surprised by how much building walls tend to be wavy and out of square.
