I am having a difficulty sourcing the pins,

I am having a difficulty sourcing the pins, the 2x10’s are easy to find but others not so much. Any suggestions on where to look?

If you dont mind cutting them to length, you can get them here: http://amzn.com/B00JR5C9N0

You get your metal rods here and then cut them to your needs.

What is the best way you have found to cut the pieces?

I haven’t gotten that far. I’m waiting for them to ship. I ordered them on http://www.aliexpress.com/. You can also get the bearings there.

I cut some of them with metal saw and a some with pliers tool.

This is the link I posted in another post. It has almost exact lengths needed. It also includes bolts/screws and nuts.

Brandon - did you have any issues on the pins that were not the correct size or were they close enough? That’s a helpful list and wish I would have started with this!

Aaron - I just have my RC build mocked up right now. I still waiting on parts I need to complete the build. I ordered the longer pins, but might order the ones in the list so I don’t have to cut them. When I first started this build I had trouble finding pieces. I hope that list helps.

I do have a question about the pins. Are they pressed in to hold the hubs?

Thanks for the insight, I have all of the printed parts and some of the screws and this is all very helpful. I am not sure about the hubs as I haven’t gotten that far

I updated the link. The spreadsheet as multiple tabs. You can get the exact quantities at Fastenal. The pins are much cheaper at McMaster-Carr and you get way more then you need for less. I will probably add more parts on there when I get a chance. I personally like to order this stuff online then run around looking for parts. Also the faster you can get the item the better in my opinion.

Ok, I am leaning toward buying the actual long pins and attempting to cut them down, I’ll see how it goes I guess
