hi guys, i’m starting printing the F1 car and i have a few question.
What brushless motor size should i get?
Are there any aftermarket wheel i can use instead of printing them?
servo size is 9Gr?
what exactly retain the spur gear on the axle ?
i’m printing most parts with Colorfabb PLA/PHA, though i am printing parts i assume will be subject to lot of stress from my NGen samples.
thanks !
21.5 is what most people use on the motor. Some people have adapters to use tires, I also had a writeup of how to use F104 axles and their rims and tires instead of the printed tires. I have that on my make in Thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/make:184326.
A bolt or small m3 screw holds the gear on the axle.
Standards servo is a small airplane servo for light gliders, but you can use a larger servo if you use a holder and adapt it to fit.
And just saw this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1462917
This takes care of your off the shelf tire question.
now i’m having trouble getting the front axle assembly to move freely…
