I’ve noticed that there are other units that are much stronger than the modules offered by xtool. Has anyone retrofitted an off brand module onto a D1?
It shouldn’t be an issue, I know I’ve seen it done, but didn’t note the location.
I changed out the laser module on a very lost cost machine from a 500mW to about 5.5W… The new module was over twice the cost of the whole original machine.
I had to change out the supply voltage line, move the home switches, slow the acceleration values down and create some kind of mount for the module to the machines gantry.
Cut it out of two layers of 3mm acrylic.
Does work well, but lots of fiddling around.
