What lathe is this? Self made?

For what reason did you decide to move the headstock for the Z movement.
I pieced it together from C-Beam and Sherline parts. I experimented with several C-Beam configurations and this one is the most rigid so far. Still not rigid enough; I can’t reliably get a good finish like I can with the Sherline lathe. The problem with Sherline ways is there’s not enough space in its slides to put in a low-backlash leadscrew.

Where did you buy the Chuck’s? I want to build a lathe since years, but never found a European source for Chuck’s with a reasonable price
@Sven_Eric_Nielsen the spindle, spindle motor, spindle riser block, chuck, and tool holder are off my Sherline 4400 lathe.
