Good news! Open Robotics University powered by G+ was contacted by DARPA today. All our students and members of Faculty will be allowed to participate in the DARPA Robotics Challenge. We would like to employ 3D printing for our work. We would create a class due to begin Jan. 7th, 2013 to focus on developing the Robot for the competition. (Since we are an open-source university, individuals not enrolled in the university or members of faculty can join our team Open Robotics University to design software and robot for the competition). The following is a link to the site to download the DARPA simulator to be used to design the robot. Please download the simulator at: http://gazebosim.org/wiki/InstallDRC Also visit DARPA website for technical information, discussion forum, and rules for the competition. Please the review information at: http://www.theroboticschallenge.org/about.php Open Robotics University handout on AIR scheduled for tomorrow Saturday at 9:00 EST (New York time) will focus on discussion for the DARPA project. If you plan to join the handout, please post a message to Open Robotics University’s G+ page to let us know.
