Have you actually built an Atlas? It’s a bad scanner topology that misses concave surfaces and anything in the gap between adjacent objects such as posts, pillars or legs.

I built a hash between the Atlas and the Ciclop scanner, so a Piclop. I scanned a number of objects with different shapes and noticed that for certain curved structures, the scanner would in fact not pick up some features. I tried experimenting with the lighting, both lasers, as well as working with blue lasers. I imagine it it something that could be easily addressed.

Regarding difficult surfaces, I came across the idea regarding the use of a mirrored surface for the scanning platform that may fix this issue.
