I’m a newbie to the k40 and when cutting I get a ghost line along the cut, below is a picture of what looks like a mineral deposit to myself and from looking around.
I will get some examples of the ghost lines but wanted to see if this could be the cause and best way to clean this out of the cooling tube.
If you haven’t I would do a realignment.
One common cause of this problem is a reflection off the inside of the objective lens’s holder (the head).
Take it apart and look for:
Damage, marks on sidewall of the lense holder from the beam
Ttilted lens]
Cracked lens
Dirty lense
You also can test to see if the beam is shooting perpendicular through the head by taping a target to the bed then take a test shot, move the bed up down incrementally and take another etc etc. Look for the test mark moving on the target as the bed is moved vertically. If the beam is pependicular to the bed the test shot should stay in one place.
