Could we please get a CubeX and see if it is REALLY possible to print this darn Basketball? Because i still don’t believe them. And i will need to bring the #makibox to next CES, just to shut them up once and for all.

The ball in picture is even uno color…

I was at their booth everyday at CES and they were never printing the basketball. They had one sitting on the print bed but it was a single color.

So what is so impressive here, just build volume, or color, or is it an actual usable ball? Am I missing something?

It is the Size plus MultiColor …

From the specs on the cubify site it seems that the single head is just capable of printing the minimum 238.4mm diameter of a basketball (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basketball_(ball) ), the multicolour versions are not able to do the same. I wonder at what speed though?

Checkout the terrible print of the globe. Florida is missing on the US. As well, you see severe lifting on one of the pink prints. Also, have a look on the CubeX site. They show a promo video of the dual color basketball being printed, but it’s full of holes. Looks pretty bad.

We tore them apart on Sat. when we saw the article on The Verge
