Been lurking but finally taking up a new project.

Looking to run 8m 60leds/m ws2812b.

Wondering if anyone has insight/experience on the voltage drop I might experience?

Planning 350w for 2 strips (8m, 960 leds)

I could run power to the middle, but it’s more wiring Id rather avoid if possible for obvious reasons.

I have 4 meter long strips I will check the voltage drop and let you know. I personally do not experience issue but the grounds of each sides are linked (otherwise noise)
But one thing for sure at white max brightness you will push 29A through each strip.

  1. replace the power cable of the strips by something larger in diameter
  2. following ohm’s law the more current the faster the voltage drop
  3. I would inject power at least in the middle at least to reduce the current in the strip.
  4. make sure that you have large capacitor at the power entry of each strip to avoid to ‘burn’ them when powering on

We for sure will be limiting brightness to cap the Amperage. great advice all around. thanks.
