"Architects Fosters and Partners have revealed designs for a building on the Moon that could be constructed from material already its surface.

An inflatable structure would be transported from Earth, then covered with a shell built by 3D printers."

I think the big problem is that people are looking to build on the surface of the moon.

Seems like it would be much easier, as well as interesting, to drill into the rock of the moon. This would provide protection from debris, air-tightness, geological exploration, radiation protection, and the ability to expand quickly underground without the need to expose astronauts to the elements outside while building an external structure.

Before we really worry too much about how to do this, I say it is worth pausing a moment and saying – HECK YEAH PRINTED MOON HABITAT!
