apart from price whats the difference between mod 1.0 and mod 3.0 racks for rack and pinion?

I haven’t heard of Mod 1 or 3. So long as the rack and pinion gears are matched angle and pitch it shouldn’t make a difference.

mod 1 has a pitch size of 3,1416mm and mod 3 has three times of that.
