any one with gcode to engrave on metal and wood?
i am new to gcode and cannot find any g code to run on my cnc
Thingiverse likely has some objects that can be run through CAM software to run on your machine. The reason CAM software is required is due to the fact that different materials and tools can be used to create objects.
I get what your asking for, I’ve been there, but its tough. Most gcode out there that you will find will be fairly specific for what ever machine it was programmed for, i.e. the speeds and feeds for that machine. Your machine may not be able to go as fast as the intended machine, and running that code on yours without editing it to match setting for your machine, could cause some issues for your machine.
I think the best advice I can offer you is to just do something on your own. Download Fusion 360, watch some of the amazing tutorials available on YouTube and generate some gcode for whatever preprocesser you need (LinuxCNC,Mach, etc). Just do a simple circle or square, it really doesn’t need to be much. Just enough to give you some confidence to take the next step.
