After some general advice on cutting wood with a new eshapeoko i have built, can any one recommend good cutting flutes there are so many ?

Also what sort of rpms should i be using the motor i have does 13000rpm should i be using it at max or slower ?

so far i am cutting but been hitting some issues with keeping things fixed down, i think that may just be because i need a better clamping mechanism.

any suggestions ?

Hi Oliver, speeds and feeds depend on the Cutter you use and the material(hardwood or something softer like pine?).
Check for the Cutter you use if it has some recommendations otherwise search for feeds and speeds and measure the outer diameter of your Cutter and look up the rpms for such a cutter.

How did you clamp down your workpiece so far?

using soft wood currently and usually scraps while i get to grips with things, the link below shows the clamps i am making now its working better, the bit with the blue cap is what i am using the other one was from an earlier failed attempt. Any links to good bits that others are using ?https://plus.google.com/+olivermarks/posts/ZY54AhVYbSy

I like ones like These (http://m.ebay.de/itm/10x-1-8-3-175mm-Carbide-CNC-Double-Two-Flute-Spiral-Bits-17mm-End-Mill-Router-/130693897408?nav=SEARCH) but also use straight Wood Router Bits sometimes.

@Werner_Drasch thanks for the tip i will order a set and give them a try
