Acceptable min to max current values

Testing on white printer paper, the minimum current which caused a visible laser dot was 3,7mA according to the stock AmpereMeter.
When cranking up the potentiometer to the highest value was displayed approx 27mA (have to check again but i think that is fairly correct).
Are these acceptable min max values?
Or in your opinion, which are the acceptable min/max values?
Thanks in advance

The rated max. current for the K40 laser tubes is around 20mA, but most users recommend below 18mA. If you push your tube too much, it will degrade and die quickly.

Also watch the temp of the cooling water. Don’t let it go above 30°C. Ideal would be between 15-20°C.

As far as the minimum goes that sounds about right. The tube has a minimum amount of current it needs to start lasing. Don’t work right at the min as it can fluctuate on and off.
