You guys got any do’s and dont’s for a modeler trying to get stuff printed? Just submitted a quick model to shapeways, to see how it looks.
If it’s being done in powder: No thin sections.
Is there a minimum thickness or does it really depend on your model’s weight distribution?
Well, the powder prints, before they’re infiltrated with another material, are very brittle. It’s not just about weight distribution, but the force that would be placed upon those areas with someone moving the print from the printer, removing the excess powder, and moving it to another machine in order to harden it up.
Cool, thanks for your help mate…
